When They choose to celebrate my birthday

For most of my life, my birthday was a quiet day.

Not a celebration.

A date I learned to pass through gently, without expectation.

There were years no one remembered.

Years I pretended it didn’t matter.

Years when the loneliness felt heavier because it arrived wrapped as “a special day.”

Sometimes a friend would appear.

Sometimes my sister would try to cheer me up.

And I would smile, grateful… and still feel that hollow inside —

the one that birthdays seem to brush against.

This year, there was no one.

So I decided — I won’t make a plan.

I won’t wait.

I won’t hope.

But somewhere beneath that decision, another voice rose —

soft, steady, undeniable.

Barsana.

Not loud. Not emotional.

Just a pull I could not explain.

So I went.

We missed the way.

For a moment, I laughed quietly — even the path wanted to test me today.

But somehow… we reached exactly on time.

One single glance of Radha.

And the temple closed.

Just one glance.

And yet it felt as if She looked straight through every year I had felt forgotten and said, without words:

“I was waiting for you.”

My legs weakened.

From there, I went to Giriraj ji — whom I have visited countless times.

But this time, grace stepped toward me.

Pandit ji looked at me and said,

“Tum abhishek karo.”

I touched Krishna.

I touched Balram.

With these same hands that have held sorrow.

With these same hands that have searched for love.

They let me touch Them.

I did not ask.

I was chosen.

As we moved ahead, I saw a crowd and asked what was happening.

Someone said, “Premanand ji aa rahe hain.”

Within minutes… he passed right before my eyes.

Another blessing I did not earn.

Only received.

At Radhavallabh ji, I could not hold myself anymore.

Something broke.

Something softened.

Something surrendered.

After a long time, I went to Nidhivan.

Then my younger one asked, “Can we go boating?”

And for the first time, we sailed on Yamuna ji.

The water moved slowly.

So did my breath.

So did my heart — after years of being tight.

Peace didn’t arrive grandly.

It arrived like a hand placed gently on my head.

We went to Malukpeeth ji.

Then I wanted to go to Bhandirvan — where Radha and Krishna were married.

But the map took us somewhere else.

Vanshivat.

And there, beneath the ancient trees, it felt as if the air itself was still humming —

flute, mridang, dhol — not with sound, but with memory.

And then… finally… Bhandirvan.

No words exist for that moment.

It did not feel like visiting a place.

It felt like stepping into a timeless vow.

Like being allowed to witness a love that never ends.

I stood there quiet.

Not asking.

Not seeking.

Just… present.

And something inside me whispered:

This is why you were brought here today.

The entire day passed without arguments.

Without instructions.

Without wounds being reopened.

No hiding.

No pretending strength.

Just me.

Just my children.

Just grace moving silently between us.

Messages flowed in all day — love, prayers, blessings.

And suddenly I understood:

This birthday was not forgotten.

It was chosen.

Chosen to be celebrated by Them.

Radha’s glance.

Krishna’s touch.

Giriraj’s shelter.

Yamuna ji’s calm.

Vatvriksh’s salvation.

The saint’s passing.

My children’s laughter without fear.

This was not coincidence.

This was celebration.

Not arranged by people.

Not decorated with effort.

But offered by the Divine.

And today, for the first time in my life, I did not feel unseen on my birthday.

Today, I felt claimed.

Held.

Loved.

And something inside me finally rested in the knowing:

They were always there.

It was I who was learning how to arrive.
