When I Thought Suffering Was My Karma

Someone once wrote to me saying,

“Sneha, maybe it’s just my karma to suffer. Maybe I’m meant to endure.”

I felt that line in my bones —

because there was a time I believed that too.

For years, I stayed in situations that broke me…

not because I didn’t see the hurt,

but because I thought walking away would bring shame,

dishonour,

and “bad karma.”

So I endured.

And every time the pain deepened,

I whispered to myself,

“Maybe this is how my story is supposed to be.”

That’s blind karma.

It traps you into repeating what hurts

because you think it’s your fate.

But here’s what life taught me in the hardest way:

Karma is not punishment.

Karma is a pattern.

And patterns change the moment you choose differently.

The day I chose therapy,

a small crack opened in a very old belief:

“What if this pain isn’t my destiny…

but my lesson?”

Healing didn’t magically erase my Prarabdh —

the part of karma life had already placed in my path.

The circumstances didn’t change overnight.

People didn’t transform.

Life didn’t suddenly get gentle.

But something subtle and powerful shifted:

How I responded to my pain changed.

And that single shift started rewriting my Kriyaman —

my present choices.

And every new choice quietly started shaping my Agami —

my future karma.

Healing made me see:

I had stayed, tolerated, explained, adjusted —

not because I was noble,

but because I was scared.

Scared of disappointing people.

Scared of breaking family expectations.

Scared of becoming “the woman who couldn’t handle her marriage.”

And when I saw that fear clearly…

the karma dissolved.

Because the lesson was learnt.

I learned to ask myself questions I had avoided for years:

  • What am I choosing by staying silent?
  • What pain am I calling “destiny” because I’m scared to choose myself?
  • What would happen if I stopped enduring and started living?

That’s when my life shifted.

Not because the world changed…

but because I stopped moving unconsciously.

Healing is not escaping karma.

Healing is finishing it.

Ending the old cycle by choosing something new.

And when I chose differently —

when I chose myself,

chose therapy,

chose truth over fear —

a different reality opened up.

One I never thought was possible for a girl who once believed suffering was her fate.

I’m sharing this now so you know:

You are never trapped.

Not by your past.

Not by your family.

Not by your karma.

The moment you learn the lesson,

the karma ends.

And the moment you choose differently,

a new karma begins.

If you’re standing at that crossroad —

between endurance and awakening —

and need a hand to walk the path with clarity and courage,

you can message me at 7016500451.

Whether you want to heal with me 1:1

or feel called to hold transformative spaces for others —

I’m here.

You are never stuck in one story.

Your choices can rewrite your karma.

One conscious step at a time.
