“October 2026 won’t save you — you have to.”

I met her after years.

She sipped her tea, hands wrapped around the mug like it could hold her together, and said,

“I’m giving myself time till October 2026. A psychic said things will get better after that.”

Her voice was steady.

Her eyes were tired.

And my chest twisted.

Not at the belief.

Not at the psychic.

At the surrender.

Years of being unseen, dismissed, hurt — and she was waiting.

Waiting for someone, something, a date, a number, a prediction, to tell her she could move.

She was leaning on the chart like it could carry her.

Astrology, numerology — they are sciences.

They map cycles, tendencies, timing.

They can show where effort flows, where resistance waits, what comes naturally.

I’ve seen them help people breathe. Orient themselves. Understand themselves.

But here, the chart was not guidance.

It was a shield.

She was here for reassurance.

A way to postpone action without guilt.

To cushion herself from disappointment.

I saw it in her fingers, gripping the mug tighter.

In the flicker of her eyes, darting away from the truth inside.

In the half-smile that tried to convince herself everything was fine.

Two people can look at the same prediction.

One sees a tool.

One sees a permit to pause life.

Most of us choose the pause.

Because trusting ourselves is too heavy.

Because hope feels reckless.

Because we’ve been disappointed enough to outsource our yes.

And without realizing we start waiting for permission.

Permission to speak up.

Permission to leave.

Permission to choose themselves.

Not because the science told us to wait.

But because something inside us doesn’t trust our own yes.

I didn’t speak.

I didn’t tell her she was wrong.

I just let her feel it.

The ache of all the moments she had postponed, softened, hidden.

Because no chart, no number, no psychic can step into your life.

Only you can decide your yes.

Only you can choose to move while the body shakes.

If your chest tightened reading this —

if a small voice whispered, that’s me —

then you already know what it feels like to wait.

And you also know where the work begins.

I hold that space.

For the ones leaning on numbers.

For the ones scared of their own yes.

For the ones ready, quietly, to meet themselves.

If you feel that tug, that quiet ache,

step into it.

It’s the only place real change begins.'

Because no science can decide your life for you.

And no prediction can carry the responsibility of being here.
